About me
Why I’m Stepping Up
I’m not a politician. To be honest, I’ve never liked them—too many non-answers and too much focus on the perks of the office. For years, I sat on the sidelines and complained about the state of our country, but complaining doesn't fix a broken system.
This may be the most unconventional thing I’ve ever done, but someone needs to be the impetus for real change. I am running for the U.S. House of Representatives because I love this country and I have a sense of duty to leave it better than I found it. I don't want a career in Washington; I want to do the job we send our representatives there to do in the first place.
The Problems We Can’t Ignore
Washington has failed to address our most pressing issues for over a decade. My focus is on the math that politicians are too afraid to talk about:
-
The Debt Crisis: We spend far more than we bring in, and the interest on our national debt now exceeds our entire budget for military.
-
Social Security: In just seven years, the trust fund is projected to be bankrupt, which would force a cut of up to 40% in benefits to our seniors.
I am running on a platform of Common Sense. I will serve only one term in Congress to ensure every vote I cast is for the interest of my constituents, not for my own re-election. It is time to stop "kicking the can" and start fixing our future
